Oh how I miss NYC

I'm in New York today. The guys and I are getting an early dinner at
Megu for restaurant week and I needed to get out of the house like
whoah. Today's Chinese New Year's Eve. So you can only imagine how my
parents are spending it: making dumplings with the TV up on as loud as
it goes as they watch the Chinese channel's celebration if it all.

So my first stop was the J Crew sample sale, which was a disaster as I
remembered that I can't shop when things are disorganized.

But on my way to the subway station, I was greeted by the absurdity
that is NYC. By now I'm sure most of us have heard of the Macys free
cosmetic giveaways. As I neared the 34th st. macys, I passed this
ridiculous line from 7th ave to 6th ave, down 6th ave for a block and
then back up to 8th ave of people in line for the free stuff. And the
best part: of the thousands of people in line, 95% of them were Asian.
Haha.

I don't know if it's the fact that we love free stuff or if it's
because este lauder (sp?) and clinique are like the two most popular
brands for the Asians...
