Continual searching leads somewhere

So I'm clearly really bad at updating this thing. After my weekend in
Hoboken, I spent some time wandering around the area looking for for
sale signs. I gathered about 30 of them. All great leads at nice
looking apartment townhouses on the south and westernly areas by the
2nd st light rail station. However as I started making phone calls,
there were few that are in my price range. Many were two bedrooms.
Many were just plain out of my price range. Even more so, the taxes in
Hoboken were ridiculous. For a $300k place, taxes alone were $600/mo.
This incease was actually in this past 2008Q4. Apparently the city
council, in the booming years, had made a number of promises to
teachers, police, fire departments, and labor workers. They were able
to collect enough during the good times. However with the economic
fall, they were forced to raise property tax by 47%. And we all know
that taxes never go down. They only go up. No wonder why there were so
many apartments for sale. So I started looking elsewhere.

Sometimes when I'm running late to work, I end up just driving to
work. Along I-78, there's a set of buildings up on a hill that are
just gorgeous. And on them is a giant banner indicating that the
complex was in construction and selling units. On a whim, I went to
visit this city on the hill: the Beacon.

I went and fell in love. Just absolutely fell in love.
