Day 1

I'm sitting the backseat of my car as my parents and I drive into
Hoboken. And I am soo nervous.

This will be my parents first time going. And I really want to make
sure it makes a good impression. I think my dad has this impression
that Hoboken is an unnecessarily yuppy feel to it. He thinks I should
buy a place in jersey city since I already work there -- and it's
cheaper (and soo much more sketchy). My dads much more practical than
I am. But honestly if I'm buying a place, I'm clearly planning to live
there for a while. And if I'm living there for a while, I'm going to
want to live somewhere I really like... With other people my age and
with similar interests. I'm totally willing to sacrifice space or a
couple more thousand for a place in Hoboken than jersey city. Plus I
feel like in the future, I'd feel more comfortable keeping a place in
Hoboken as a rental property than a place in jersey city. It's just
more vibrant. And honestly, I shamelessly like being a yuppy. Or
becoming a yuppy (since jersey isn't really "urban").
