Staying on Track

So I get on my morning train that leaves Somerville at 7:34 and usually puts me in the office around 9am.

But as we near the Cranfors stop, we are told that the tracks between Cranford and Newark are not working. Great. So we are told to get off the train and wait for a bus to come rescue us. We're only two stops away! Oh the frustration.

And so I get off the bus only to see 3 trains worth of people all waiting for the bus. Oh man. And so I wait and stand around for over 30 min with the one thought going throughy my mind, as I'm sure everyone around me is thinking it too:

Are they going to fix it for my ride home? The conductor doesn't know. So we're just waititng around and hoping. Many people who came from stations close to cranford have taken the train heading back west to drive to their destination. Alas I live too far for that option.

So here I am, standing on a bus that's been at the same stoplight for a solid 5 min bc of traffic and all the other buses. Ugh. I'll let you know when I get into the office.
UPDATE:
I just got into the office 1hr and 40 min after ETA. Apparently there was a switching issue on the tracks. ew.
