I know, I know. I've been bad. It's been over a week since my last post and a lot/not a lot has happened. Let's pick up where I left off.
Last Saturday I left Manhattan again after a Friday night of awkward-ness followed by a Saturday of more awkward-ness. But amidst it all, there were definitely some highlights. Among these was a visit to Shake Shack (I'll post a pic when I get a chance.) On that lovely Saturday, RBM and I went to Madison Square Park to get ice cream -- Banana Foster was the flavor of the day and it was amazing -- as was their Portobello mozzarella burgers. YUM.
The Sunday aftewards was filled with a day of gym-ing, cleaning, and catching up on things. yay.
Monday evening, I met up with JBA and took her out to lunch at the Zen Palate in the Financial District. I'm really glad that the Fin Dist is so close. Literally a 5 min Path ride -- just give me and extra 5 min for walking... If anyone ever wants to meet up in the Fin Dist, I'm up for it.
Otherwise, Monday-Friday have been a blur. I haven't posted b/c I've either been sleeping, working, or watching TV episodes on my iPhone (I <3 iPhone). But to the craziness at work, I can only attribute to the September Madness. Those of you who have been following the craziness can agree.
Other thoughts throughout the week:
-- I'm really excited to print out some photos to decorate my cube at work with this free photo printing coupon.
-- I'm totally skeeved out by online dating services, but this one def looks worth checking out...
-- I hate that I only run into cute guys when I'm doing totally embarassing things -- i.e. Today when I ran into HS friend KC who works at Goldman... he was taking the Path back to Hoboken when I accidentally got on the train thinking that it was going to Newark Penn. And last time I saw him, I was pretty much completely sh*t faced. Not a good running streak there.
-- I really hate people who feed the pigeons at the Newark train station. Somehow when I'm waiting for the train, I'm always sitting next to the old lady who ends up trying to feed the birds. Doesn't she know that pigeons are like subway rats?!
-- I'm amused at how a simple accident at the Somerville Circle can back me up so much that I missed my train -- slash it took my drive from my house to the train station from 5 min to 20 min.
This past weekend, GECB, AMR and I drove down to Alexandria, outside of D.C., to visit our friends DSW and PMB. On the drive, we kept hitting random spurts of rain: pouring, sunshine, sprinkling, clouds, pouring, sprinkling, night. It's weird how driving in one direction can lead to so many weather changes that after a while, you start to forget what state you're in. On our trip down, we thought we were at a Delaware rest stop getting food -- until we got really confused by all the Maryland Crabs stuff in the gift shop. The cashier then solemnly told us that we were in MD. I've rarely felt that stupid. oi. Virginia was gorgeous -- I miss it. Saturday morning we drove out to Manasass to the Virginia State Wine Festival. The drive down was... fine. We listened to some music, but on the way back, I think everyone had enough wine in them to all be belting out lyrics to Semisonic, GooGoo Dolls, Harvey Danger, etc... (except me since I was driving...) The festival itself was pretty amazing. FB the photos. I have a new favorite semi-sweet white: vidal blanc. And there were some interesting ones that I really wouldn't call wine anymore -- chili dogs and hot tamale. wtf. right? But anyhow, with all the good wines, I (a) couldn't help but think of NEG and her love of wine & cheese parties and (b) dreaded running into someone I knew from VA. That night, we went out to Adams Morgan and had a few drinks. My fav. was definite the Stoli Punch -- which can only be described as a super strong Sea Breeze. YUM. Unfortunately the trip had to end sometime, after another amazing feast (the first of which was made my AMR) of pancakes, eggs, and bagels, the trio left to head back up -- through more rain. UGH I hate driving through intermittent rain. But still. This trip had helped me refind my love for Britney and Paris (musically). haha.
This week I've tried to start a new habit of going to bed early and waking up early to go to the gym before work. Obvi since it's almost midnight and I'm still not in bed, that habit has not kicked in yet. Perhaps next week I'll try again. But until then, I have two more days this week and Homecoming to look forward to this weekend. WOOHOO!! Hope to see you there!

Numbering my thoughts in your honor...
1. The 'shroom burger is my favorite thing at the Shake Shack. Delicious.
2. Agreed about the photo printing coupon! I may be hitting up you, KJA, and DW for original sized versions of things soon.
3. Hot guys are always accompanied by embarrassment. Boo pigeons.
4. You're an amazing vacation buddy, whether we're in Delaware OR Maryland.
5. I still have Paris stuck in my head.
