Cuteness with age

So maybe cutness and age aren't the right words, but I'm too tired to
think of other words.

Everyday in the second car of the train that arrives at Newark at
8:22, there is a group of 6 Chinese ladies that sit together. A couple
get on at Raritan, 3 at Somerville, and one more at Bridgewater. All
of them are going towards Newark. Three get on the path with me with
final destinations at Journal Square and WTC. I'm not sure where the
others end up.

But they are the modern Joy Luck club. They're all in their 40s,
married, and with kids. Some days they talk about how lazy their
daughters are. On other days, it's a convo about how their son never
studies. They're all too adorable. And they remind me of my mom and
her lunch buddies.

Since living in Jersey zaps away time because of commutes (avg
jerseyian commute at 45 min, highest in the country), I'm glad they
found some time to enjoy each other. I can only hope that perhaps at
some point I'll find commuting buddies too. Until then, I'll stick to
passing out on the train. Good night.
