I got into my evening commute train. And they announced that they were going to hold up the train for an extra 5 minutes because the bathroom on the train was out of order and they were giving you time to go down to the station use the bathroom.
My first thought was wtf how can the bathroom be broken? It's a hole in a toilet thing. It's not it really flushes. More like water flows through it. Ok tmi like whoah.
So then I thought about it. Commutes are not good for people who need to use restrooms.
By foot you'd just have to find the closest fastfood place. But don't go to the mcdonalds in Chinatown. The bouncer to the upstairs makes you purchase a $1 coupon for $1 off anything there. The time and date are marked on it that makes you use the bathroom within 2 hours of purchasing ticket. Leave it to the Chinese to put together a system like that.
By subway, you'd have to wait to get out at a stop, find a mcdonalds or starbucks. Or else just go between cars. Haha.
By train, tg most trains have a bathroom. Although they suck and smell. At least I'm the US there's a septic tank whereas in China it just goes onto the tracks. Ew. Maybe they fixed it for the Beijing Olympics like everything else in China.
By car isn't so bad unless your stuck in traffic that isn't moving like the commutes these past two summers. Thankfully I've never had any emergencies. But I've definitely heard stories of guys who went into bottles and have seen people pull over on the side of the road. Awk.
My response? More functional bathrooms please!!
